North Salinas Invite Brings Home Results!

Soledad Track and Field was at it again, this time at the North Salinas Invitational
and Relays at North Salinas high school. Both our guys and girls teams in both
varsity and frosh/soph divisions represented Soledad very well bring home 26 total
metals, 14 of which were from athletes placing top three in their respective
events/relays. Individually we set 24 new personal records today with another four season records. There were a number of outstanding performances today. On the girls side: Danyelle Landeros won both the 400 and 800 meters setting season records in the process. Noora Hautamaki hit an outstanding mark in the varsity girls long jump going 18’0” capturing 1st place today. That jump also places her second overall in all of CCS this season. Marcela Perez won the frosh/soph 3200 meter with a time of 13:12.85 and dropped three seconds off her mile time running a 6:05.09 and came in 5th overall. Gyrallene DeGracia, in the frosh/soph division, took 2nd in the triple jump going 30’0” and 3rd in the long jump going 13’9”. On the guys side: Ulises Camarena won the varsity boys 300 hurdles setting a new personal best with a time of 43.13. Adrian Mellin come in 2nd place in the frosh/soph 300 hurdles with a time 48.40, also a new personal best. Luis Alba improved on his best in the frosh/soph 1600 meters by five seconds running a time of 5:06.09. Julian Hernandez took a staggering 12 seconds off of his 800 meter time today running a 2:24.78. And Carlos Espinosa, running in the frosh/soph division, set a new personal best in the 800 meters with a time of 2:12.55 taking 2nd place; along with placing 6th overall in the 1600 meters and 4 th overall in the 3200 meters.
