CCS Semi-Finals

Soledad Track and Field took six athletes to the CCS Semifinals meet at Gilroy High School this past Saturday the 20th. Our athletes competed in four different events including the men’s 4x100 relay, men’s shot put and two athletes in the 300m hurdles. Of the four events we ran in there were three personal best times set, one school record and one athlete continuing on to the finals meet next week. Ulises Camarena, Miguel Gonzalez, Emmanuel Ortega, and Jesus Rodriguez our 4x100m relay team, ran a season best time of 45.76, running almost a full second faster. Belen Flores crushed her personal best time in the 300 hurdles by 1.5 seconds, running a time of 51.22. And Daniel Contawe made the finals for shot put by throwing a season best 50’10”. He will compete for a spot in the state championship meet this Friday at Gilroy High School in the CCS Finals meet.
