It came down to the last play, but Soledad Aztecs Varsity was on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Carmel on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Carmel batting in the bottom of the seventh when Adam Lewis's sac fly scored one run for Carmel.
Chris Sanchez led the Carmel to victory on the pitcher's mound. He lasted one inning, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out two and walking one. Conner Reding and YungJae Chee entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Carmel totaled seven hits in the game. Ryan Dority and Tristian McCallister each had multiple hits for Carmel. Dority went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Carmel in hits.
