King City Invitational Recap provided from Head Coach Jeremy Hoeflinger:
Our athletes took to the track over the weekend at King City high school and had an outstanding meet. Our girl’s team brought home a second place trophy, which is the highest ever finish at this particular invitational. We had a number of great performances, again. Noora Hautamaki once again proved to everyone that she is a force to be reckoned with. She brought home three first place finishes in four events. She won the Long Jump with a jump of 17’9”, Triple Jump with a jump of 36’8” and Shot Put with a throw of 35’7”. Noora now has the school record in the Long Jump and Triple Jump. Also for the girl’s team, Danyelle Landeros finished third overall in the 400 meters and fourth overall in the 800 meters. And freshman thrower, Alondra Alonso had a sold throw of 27’8” setting a new personal best. On the guy’s side Angel Olivas had a monster PR jumping 19’8.25” in the Long Jump. Freshman distance runner, Carlos Espinosa finally broke the five-minute mile mark running a 4:55.65 in the 1600 meters.
